An Advocate For Children With Special Needs
Saundra M. Gumerove is the mother of a daughter who is disabled. As such, she has a full understanding of the issues that surround children with special needs and the emotions their parents are constantly dealing with.
As an attorney, Ms. Gumerove has performed extensive work in connection with rights of the developmentally disabled, representing parents and children in IEP meetings and impartial hearings.
Ms. Gumerove’s strenuous commitment to this cause has included working together with school districts to ensure that children who have special needs receive the services they are entitled to under New York State and Federal law. These services include speech therapy, occupational and physical therapy, educational tutoring, and others. The goal is to make certain that each disabled child is able to take full advantage of the services available to them, enabling the child to achieve their highest level of education.
